Dead Dell Streak 7

I purchased the dell Streak 7 during the black friday sale and now 3 weeks later it is completely dead.  It wont charge it wont do anything internet searches have shown this as a fairly common problem but I am confused on who to contact is this a Dell issue or a Best Buy issue?  Now I am even more confused considering Dell has disconitnued the Streak 7 so do I have any options at all, I mean I am assuming it won't be replaced if they are no longer making it, but can it be fixed or is a refund the only option?  Any help or direction would be greatly appreciated

Try your best to take it back and get your money.  I purchased one the day before black friday and the charger never worked.  I called best buy to try to get another charger and they were NO help at all.   Mine is heading back to the store today to see if they will take it back.  Hopefully i can get my money back and NEVER visit Best Buy again.  Let us know how it goes.  BTW  i have been charging mine with the charger base for an iPad.  You may want to try that and see if will charge.

You can bring it in and exchange it if they randomly have one or return it for your money back or exchange for a different item completely. You could also have it repaired through Best Buy in some cases but probably not for this particular item. You could work with Dell to get it repaired if you want to keep it.

I wish I had better news for you, but Crystal is correct: your options would be to seek factory warranty repairs through your local Best Buy store or to return it within our extended holiday return period.  Dell support reps may be able to provide you alternative solutions though, so you may wish to contact Dell at 1-877-293-1197 if you haven’t already done so.

I have the same problem with one we purchased. Will they only store credit the same price? Or will I be able to get another one in hopes of better luck. Or even exchange for a different tablet.

If they have one you can exchange it for another one or you can exchange it for anything you want but you do have to pay the price difference if that item costs more.

Thank you very much for the help. I was actually in a mall last weekend that had a Dell store kiosk so I spoke with one of the emplyees there and explained the situation and he told me that no matter what Dell has to honor their warranty on the product regardless of where it was purchased from and regardless of whether or not it was still in production. He said to contact Dell and they would deal with it. I was hoping to avoid that because f the Dell customer service horror stories I have heard but it was actually quite simple and fairly fast. They sent me a return box the next day and stated they will fully service it and do a complete system check and have it back to me within 15 days. So we will see how it goes but it looks like Dell is doing their part so far!
