I don't know specifically b/c I wasn't there when it was bought. Seeing as how my mother made the purchase it could have been credit, cash, check, giftcard or even reward points for all I know.

no, because I've only heard of such a thing being done at the store the purchase was made at.

Good afternoon cleric_80 -
After reading about your experience, I can completely understand how frustrated you would be, and frankly I am a bit embarrassed that a simple exchange was handled in such a way to leave you with such a poor feeling about Best Buy®. While the cashier was following policy, it seems that this would be a situation where some sort of accommodation or exception could have been made in the interest of customer service.
I would like to speak further with you concerning this incident, and am sending you a private message to continue this conversation. You can check your private messages by first ensuring you are logged into the forums, and then clicking the envelope in the upper right hand corner.
Thank you!

the policy everyone seems to be repeating is true. BUT i am sorry it seems no one actually tried to help you with your issue properly. the rep should have asked you how it was paid for, if the buyer has a reward zone card, or even what store it was purchased at that way they could get aas much information as they could to narrow down the search.
