Well the wife bought me a Panasonic Camcorder for X-mas (in Sept) and she told the sales person that it had to have a remote, for the taping that we do. He left and came back and said that he checked and it had a remote. When I opened it for X-mas NO REMOTE!!!!!! We called the store and said how sorry they are, but if you call Panasonic they will send you one. Well we didn't think much of it, we wasn't going to use it untill spring. So I called Panasonic and the lady said that this model wont work with a remote. Called the store and they said SORRY ABOUT THE MISUNDERSTANDING since its been over 14 days theres nothing we can do about it, but we can sell you one that has a remote . So we spent over $400 on a camcorder that is useless to use with out a remote that their trained sale person said it had.
With this type of customer service they won't be getting any of my money again!!!!!!!!

Odd - the employee wouldn't have been able to check if there was a remote, most cameras have that yellow 14 day warning tape all over it, so if the employee actually did open the camera, the tape would be broken.
He might have looked at a different model and got confused maybe?
We are only human after all.

Any MOD should be able to assist you with this issue very soon.
In the meantime, have you checked the popular internet auction site? I bet you could find the remote on there and buy it by itself. I know it's still a bad situation, but at least this may be a temporary fix until someone else can address this.

The MODS are really good here in the forums. I am not sure they will be able to do much since the return period has expired.
As far as salesman goes...I don't trust anything any salesman tells me. When i get ready to buy a car, computer or any major purchase, I spend hours researching that product, the company, the warranty, the specs on the product, I read reviews on the internet to see what other people are saying about that product.
So when I get ready to buy something, I know every single thing about that product and if a salesman starts to feed me lies then I am equipped to know that he is lying.

Hi JDAWADA,
I don’t like hearing that you feel like you are now stuck with a camcorder you have no use for, and I truly apologize for any miscommunication between your wife and our sales associate. It is true that a camcorder purchased in September of 2008 would have a 14 day return or exchange period, and since you are seven months beyond the return or exchange period we would not be able to process a return or exchange on your camcorder.
I’m not really sure why you have to have a remote control or the camcorder is useless to you, but I might be able to help troubleshoot this for you and find you a way to use this camcorder to meet your needs. If you would like to work with me on this just send me a message by logging into the forum, clicking on my icon, and then clicking on the send this user a private message link. I look forward to hearing from you!

Allan
