Credit Card Payment Plan

So I bought a new laptop computer on 7/22 and I used my BB credit card for the purchase. At the time, one of the payment options was 6 months no interest financing( I did select this option). Here is my question. I notice that last week and this week there was a possible payment option of 18 months, no interest on this same laptop. Anyway I can change my payment arrangement from the 6 to 18 months no interest financing? Thanks, Asus g71 is the laptop that I bought.

Re: Credit Card Payment Plan

You would have to call HSBC and speak with them.

Re: Credit Card Payment Plan

I would stop back in to your local Best Buy and speak with the customer service counter. Depending on the local management, you might be able to just process a return and then repurchase the laptop with the extended financing.

Re: Credit Card Payment Plan

If you are still within the return policy you can return the purchase back to your Best Buy card and repurchase it under the extended no interest promotion. Make sure you have enough credit limit to hold 2 purchases unless the return posts to your account.

Re: Credit Card Payment Plan

Good point Adam! It is important to realize that the return can take a few business days to post to the account.

Re: Credit Card Payment Plan

Yep so make sure your limit is high enough to have them both on there for a few days. If not, customer service CAN call the bank and have the return posted immediately but this takes extra time in store.

Re: Credit Card Payment Plan

Would I be required to bring the item back, maybe just the box? What ya think?  I live like 30-40 minutes away from the store is why I ask.

Re: Credit Card Payment Plan

As long as we are just doing a return and repurchase back to back, we would only need the reciept and can get the item number off of it.

Re: Credit Card Payment Plan

So i called the customer desk at the BB where I bought the laptop. They asked me to call the Credit Card Co.  I called the credit card co. and they said that they could do that but they would need a document from the store approving the change of the promortional rate on my acct.  I call the store back and let them know this, they tell me that they do not do anything like that and after talking to her manager, they cannot change the promotion. Kinda sucks. Just wanted to share my experience. Any suggestions?
