Hello,
I brought my computer into Bestbuy to get it fixed on Friday 2/27. The Geek Squad agent said I'd have the computer in a few days. My service order paper said 3/2, I realize it's only been a day, but I called and the agent I spoke to said it hasn't been looked at yet. Is this uncommon or what?

Also, I'm not the most computer savy person out there, how long does the standard OS replacement take, given that nothing "goes wrong."

The standard OS install depending on processor speed and how much RAM your system has might take 35 minutes to install the OS, maybe 30mins to 1hour for driver installs and windows updates.
I have loaded Vista Ultimate on Core 2 Duo and Quad cores in less than 20-30 minutes not counting driver installs and windows updates.
If you have alot of data (music, pictures, movies) to back up then it can take longer. Backing up data can take up to several hours sometimes.
It's a really simple job.

Welcome to the forums! Generally the date on your service order is an estimated completion date. As pointed out, sometimes different precincts might experience heavier workloads, resulting in a slightly longer repair time. The precinct should notify you as soon as your unit is completed.
