Closing store location

I don't buy very much at Best Buy, but when I do I have one store I really like going to and it's a shame that BB corp is choosing to close this store. I had read that they were closing 50 large stores and opening up around 100 smaller stores, this one is a small store compared to the rest in my area.

The people that work at this store are very nice and MOST have a clue when it comes to answering a question and helping you find the right product. A few at the store even call me by name as I enter and talk to me in a business like and friendly manner, I am hoping that they get moved to another store in my area.

I have bought a lot of things at this store and if even one thing went wrong with what was bought I have had no problem either getting it fixed or replaced.

Now I am going to have to go to the one over at the mall which I avoid like the plague. They are totally clueless, won't help you in any way shape or fashion and just plain flat out ignore you if they can.

BEST BUY you should be ashamed at closing this store.

Re: Closing store location

Hi emptypockets and welcome to the forum!

Sorry to hear that your preferred Best Buy store is closing their doors. I was hoping the store I frequent wouldn't be on the hit list, where as you wrote the employees do have a clue and issues are rare, but at the moment mine appears to be safe. I think the decision of which stores to close was probably based more on a profit / loss picture than anything else. Hope things improve at the mall location, maybe they'll absorb some of the better employees from the closing store. Good luck.

Re: Closing store location

Seen it coming when they told me I could not make any returns due to the TRE policy.  I made another return after my 90 jail sentence and I'm on a 90 day watch again; for a $60 iPad case that had rubber flaps that would not stay open covering the speaker and camera during use.   I made sure I told my friends of this practice.  50 stores now 200 tomorrow.  That's what happens when you treat honest people like thieves.

I do feel sorry for those losing their jobs or have to relocate.  I blame corporate for this disaster.  Even if I wanted to shop at bestbuy again their closing the store closest to me.  LOL

Re: Closing store location

That's what happens when your lease expires on stores you no longer need... Stores were built next to competition stores to drive them out. Now that they're gone, there is no reason to keep paying rent for these big box stores when they aren't nearly as profitable as smaller, Mobile stores. If anything, the "TRE policy" has saved them money... so that's clearly not the reason.

"TRE policy has saved them money"

Yup, their best idea of 2011. It's working really nice for them in 2012. I guess it's true what they say then; for every 1 good idea there are 10 bad ones. Whats next, charge a entrance fee just to enter the store to help save the remaining stores. That should keep the remaining stores open.
