Car Stereo warranties

I bought a JVC KDR530 less than 2 months ago (Jan. 19) and the other day, it flickered a bit and then just stopped working. I tested the wires and everything is fine there, so the head unit just died.

My question is this; Does Best Buy honor the manufacturers warranty themselves, or do I have to register with JVC and mail it out and all that jazz? Seems like a bit of a pain for a stereo that's less than $100.

I remember several years ago, I bought a head unit at a different store and had an issue almost a year later and they just did an exchange, so I was hoping BB takes the same approach. I'd love to just replace with the same unit and spare myself the time wiring.

Also should mention that no, I did not purchase the replacement plan...

Re: Car Stereo warranties

If the head unit needs repair, Best Buy can take care of repairs/replacement under the manufacturer warranty as well as their black tie protection.

If you installed the unit yourself, you would be responsible for removing it and bringing it in to the store. If the head unit was installed by Best Buy, you can bring the vehicle in, and they should take care of the removal as well.

A Community Connector will be by to clarify and to assist you with your issue. Good luck. :smileyhappy:

hydrogenwv is correct.

Just bring the unit into your local store and our Geek Squad should be able to help you out.
