Car Audio Warranty

I purchased a 12 inch polk audio subwoofer and 800 watt amp and it was installed this saturday, having dropped it off friday. I picked it up saturday, it was working fine on that day, but yesterday (monday) at about 230 pm my music was about medium high and i was playing a bass song and all of a sudden i couldnt feel the effect of the sub anymore. I turned off my music and checked it out, my sub was slightly smoking from the back and now it just "putters" when i play music, even softly, im completely sure i blew it out, but was wondering if there was warranty available and if there is i want to know how i can find out before ofcourse telling my parents what has happened, which btw, i have not, so its tuesday now and im stuck in a rut with what to do.

Re: Car Audio Warranty

Take it back to the install bay and see if they will exchange it out for you. You're still within the return period so it shouldn't be a problem

Re: Car Audio Warranty

Hey osu29fan,

Welcome to our forums!

Ugh, car audio issues! I can somewhat relate to having problems while listening to music in your car. Mine certainly isn't as extensive as yours, but whenever I play a CD in my car, I only get audio from the right side speakers. This leads me to believe that it's loose wiring, but it's something that I've just learned to deal with over time, rather than paying the service fee to have someone rip out the dash in order to make a wiring connection/replace wires or tell me other bad news.

Now that I've cried to you about my car problem, let's get back to why we're here-your car installation/subwoofer concern. As TechSavvyChick stated, you are certainly within the return period as well as within the installation service guarantee, so I would recommend just bringing your car and purchase receipt back to the store when you get a chance, so you can get this resolved.

Let us know if you have any other concerns!
