I want to update my situation, so everyone knows what happened.
First of all, Allan was extremely polite and helpful, and prompt wtih communication.
Local management at the Yuma Best Buy store allowed us to get a loaner laptop, thanks to Allan's help, so my Son will have it for the testing.
I am so glad i found this forum, and i am very pleased with how Best Buy took care of my situation. I will continue to be a loyal customer!

Wow! This thread sure did take an interesting turn.
Glad everything worked out for you, azkat!
While I'm sure Allan is a helpful guy, I am curious as to his statements regarding loaners. He was pretty affirmative about the fact that stores don't offer loaners, yet askat was able to get one.
I do know of others that have received loaner computers from Best Buy. I don't know if it's an official policy, but it seems strange that Allan would make such a firm statement.
Can anyone elaborate on policy regarding loaners? It it a local management decision? Must you come to this forum?

I would assume that based on the circumstances the customer was going through they made an exception. It wasn't like they wanted a Loaner just to go online and go on facebook it was being used for tests in school.

I can definitely understand your confusion on how this went from Best Buy® doesn't provide customer's loaner laptops to the customer receiving a loaner laptop. As mstng87gt assumed this was an exception made by the management in our store in Yuma, AZ, and yes the customer did receive a loaner laptop to use while their laptop is out for service. Our management in our stores are empowered to make exceptions to our policies to take care of their customers, and this stores management felt like an exception was justified in this case.
I need to be clear that this is the first time in the years I've worked for Best Buy® that I have seen any store management make this exception for a customer. I feel like this speaks to the integrity of our management in our store in Yuma, AZ, and I have to say they deserve all the credit in this!

I as well Raise my glass for a toast to that store. I just wish more stores would follow this example there would be a lot less complaints but then a gain the mods wouldn't have jobs either.

yes, as Allan said above, an exception was made for us. i am very grateful and relieved!!

Kudos to you also for coming back to let us know the good news. Most customers don't and other people that come on the forum only see the complaints and do not get to see most problems due get solved.
