I have been a customer of bestbuy for years, all my entertainment equipment is from there, I took advantage of the 18 months same as cash, credit card and to date never missed a payment on that card and this month I was charged a $25 late fee on... wait for it... The Due date, Unless I get this retracted, BestBuy will lose my business, actions like this its no wonder they have to close 50 stores nationwide, I have filed a complaint and we will see what transpires.

Yes of course, however BestBuy is.. I feel also accountable for the banks that they deal with, and the card /credit facility was offerd to me by BestBuy, so in my opinion BestBuy is accountable by association for their customers satifaction. so I have submitted my complaint to HSBC and made it known to BestBuy and its customers via this board, it will highlight the issues that other customers may experiance when electing to use a BestBuy Credit card.

I am fully aware the BestBuy has no control over the bank, but they do have control on which bank they select for their promotions, and as such should choose a bank that best represents them and their customers satisfaction, maybe they should call the BestBuy card a "HSBC store credit for and behalf of Bestbuy", then maybe customers would not hold them accountable by association to HSBC because it does not have BestBuy plastered all over it...just sayin.
I agree that my contract is with HSBC and have contacted them accordingly, and my indention with this post is to highlight the issues that come with retailer and creditor relationships, as I said both are accountable for customer satisfaction, for example if the agreement said CHASE on it I probably would not have gone with the card as I dislike chase's business practices, however it seems HSBC is just as bad..lol appreciate your feedback though
No one has time to read the agreement in the store before they make the purchase, it is only after the fact, and if there is something on that agreement you do not like, its too late. can you imagine the mayhem in stores if people did read the agreement it would take all day to buy an item on a same as cash promo..lol and then say oh I don't agree with it, sale cancelled and walk out. lol
thanks for trolling me for bestbuy...lol it helps get more info into the post for the CS rep and helps the customer vent LOL

"you're again more than welcome to blame whoever you want to blame."
OK, I Blame you, by association...lol

Did you make the payment after a certain time on the due date?
For example, on my Discover card you have until 5pm eastern to make the payment on the due date then it's considered late.
While HSBC is just as bad a corner check cashing place, the only way not to have problems with them is to not use them.
