Best Buy policies on Manufacturers Coupons

I have a questions regarding manufacturers coupons.  I walked in a Best Buy store (125) last week and tried to purchase a blu-ray movie using a coupon.  To my surprise they said they will not take a print out of a manufacturers coupon.  I explained that the only way to get this coupon was to get it from Coupons.com and you had to use a printer to print it.  They told me too many people were doing this and I was commiting fraud.  Long story short, they basically said that printed coupons are fake and that I was a scam.  Is this a new policy that Best Buy just enforced?  Thanks in advance.

Did the coupon state that it was not valid at BB? Were you buying something that was prohibited by the coupon? If not, then the store should've accepted it.

The only other reason I see BBY not accepting the coupon would be if it stated coupon may not be duplicated, or no copies accepted or something like that,

 

Gernerally coupons.com makes you aware of the deals and points you to where you can print the coupon but generally the coupons are not meant to be distributed that way. Usually it is sent through newspaper advertisements, and then if BBY or other stores accept coupons on different paper the store does not get reimbursed

It wasn't a duplicate because I printed it from coupons.com which requires the user to install an application to create the coupon.  Just like you, they are insinuating that I took an image from online and then printed a copy but it was a legit one.  I offered to show them where I got the coupon to validate that it was authentic but they didn't even let me.  Since the deal is over now, I can't post the link to where it was.

No problem.  I know you are trying to help.  It's just the fact that Bestbuy employees assume the customer is guilty and not let them prove it.  Kind of messed up in a way.  Good thing the US Federal government doesn't operate that way.

He's actually not an employee. But I am. And I see no reason why the coupon shouldn't be accepted if it was valid.

I’m sure it was upsetting to have the store imply that you were trying to defraud them with the use of this coupon, and we definitely accept coupons from the manufacturer that were legitimately printed.
