Hi (again) Jennett,
As you noted, no anti-virus is perfect. However, I have been very happy (knock on wood) with ESET software. I have an iMac and use ESET Cybersecurity for Mac. Other family members that use Windows 7 have ESET Nod32 installed. The only things they have ever found (so far) on their computers are tracking cookies.
Speaking of cookies, I prefer chocolate chip. Or sometimes, fresh (still warm) peanut butter cookies with chocolate frosting. Yum.

Hi Jennett,
I've spoken to the store management in detail about your situation, and we'd advise you to utlize Tech Support going forward as this sounds like a software issue. As Area51Kev mentioned, you can also try various software programs to hopefully prevent these occurrences. Thank you for keeping us posted.
Sincerely,

So in other words, there is nothing you can/will do. Guess I will be seeing you every other week or so to repair this computer as I have no choice but to check my email in order to run my business.
I will be sure to find another venue to purchase my electronics in the future and I will spread the word about my experience at your store to my contacts, my clients, my team and my local Chamber of Commerce.
Thanks!

Dear Jennett,
We sincerely regret the frustrating experience you describe. Going forward, as you indicate yourself, it is a good idea to examine carefully a computer in a damaged box as the electronic components are very vulnerable. Although, as has been given, no anti-virus package offers 100% protection, I hope you are getting some virus alerts. As I read about your latest incident the first thing that came to mind when you mentioned blue screens was virus. I know it is frustrating but it appears you have been given sound advice on this issue.
If you encounter hardware issues, keep in mind that the unit is still under HP's one year standard warranty and we can assist in setting up and expediting HP repairs. We wish you much success in your business.

The "solution" provided by the representative above was to return the computer to Best Buy. Hmmmm...
This morning, the newest computer blue screened again. FANTASTIC!

Don't know if I'm just lucky, but I haven't seen a blue screen in some years, using a wide range of even Vista equipped units.

We have an iMac, a Dell laptop, a Gateway laptop, and a Toshiba laptop that all get used on a daily basis. I can hardly remember what a "blue screen" looks like (aside from the color, obviously), let alone recall what to do about it if it does.
