The Best Buy price match policy states that they will match any price of a store within 25 miles away. When I went to the Best Buy in West Paterson, NJ to purchase a Apple Airport Extreme I showed them the price of B&H Photo of $163.17 and they would not match it. I was told it was because it is in New York but it is only 17.2 miles from the West Paterson store and the policy only states a mileage requirement. I feel the store should match the price.

Does B&H have the item in stock?

I think, what's complicating the matter, may be the fact that it's across state lines. I'm not sure that should make a difference or not, though.
It sounds like they didn't even get to the point of checking stock since they denied it outright.

Yes, they have many in stock.

Any suggestions how to proceed? I did e-mail customer service.

Sorry to have to tell you but Best Buy does not care about your problem. I ran into the same crap 6 months ago at the North avenue store in Chicago. Best Buy corporate basically encourages their stores to reject price matches over a certain dollar amount.

Do you have proof of that last comment, Solomon?
The problem isn't that Best Buy Corporate encourages stores to reject price-matches, the problem is that the stores have the final say. Corporate can tell them they should be price matching it, but if the store still chooses not to, Corporate's hands are tied.

Yeah Hydrogen, i do. What's it to you? And you are wrong as well, corporates hands are not tied, THEY OWN THE FRIGGIN STORE, they can overrule stores any gotdam time they want. Don't go throwing around BS like that hydrogen.
