BB PRICE MATCHING(help)

I purchased a tv from BB on 11/26/08 my husband tried to talk me out of it, he said the price will come down before christmas, i was assured by 3 different sales associates that if the price on that exact tv would go down they would price difference it.

So today 12/6/09 the tv is listed for 100.00 less then what we bought it for at the same BB.  So i went in to get credit, cash, gift card anything. The person helping me said, I am sorry we can't give you that, because you got the 3 year no interest card and that disquailifies you for the price match.

WHAT I THOUGHT TO MYSELF, WHEN WE WERE BUYING THE TV I ASKED THREE TIMES,  3  DIFFERENT ASSOCIATES, IF THIS TV GOES DOWN IN PRICE BEFORE CHRISTMAS CAN WE GET THE PRICE MATCH, THEY SAID ABSOLUTELY, THEY DIDN'T SAY "NO I AM SORRY YOU TOOK THAT CREDIT CARD DEAL SO YOU WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE FOR THE PRICE MATCH"

I got home from the store and was livid so i called the manager. She said she couldn't help me , because it was in the ad, first of all if it was in the ad , I am not sure where it was and i didn't keep it since it was a couple of weeks ago.\

Then i asked her why when i asked the employee there about  the price match, they didn't say anything, she told me she didn't  no what i had asked them and couldn't go by that.\ She was not going to help me at all.

The thing that gets me the most is she said if they were still offering the credit card deal at 3years no interest, then she could give me the price match, but since they weren't that they couldn't give me the price match,    WOW WAS THAT ALL IN THE ADVERTISEMENT , I WOULD HAVE THOUGHT I WOULD HAVE REMEBERED THAT.

I SURE HOPE A BEST BUY EMPLOYEE/MANAGEMENT CAN EMAIL ME BACK ON THIS ONE, I AM ALL ABOUT FAIR, BUT THIS I A CROCK, SCAM, WHATEVER ELSE YOU WANT TO CALL IT.

I thought i loved this store, but I will never buy anything again from it, they are dishonest and don't stand up for there advertisements. thank you nicole

Re: BB PRICE MATCHING(help)

Hmm by the dates it seems like I would explain to the manager, that I could just return the TV...getting all my money back and buy another new same TV for $100 less.  Unless I am missing some technicality in the 30day return policy, seems it would be in the managers best interest not to get a open box TV back that they would have to discount to sell, and then sell you a new TV for less.  Might as well give you the $100.  But like I said not an expert on the return policy, but that is what I would look into doing.

Re: BB PRICE MATCHING(help)

I am a bit confused on this one as well.....tell them you want to return the tv then...

I bought a Canon DSLR camera last yr, and like 3 days later it went on sale, I went in to my Best Buy and they refunded the difference(and I did the no interest for 18 months or whatever...) just took a bit longer since they had to redo the Best buy warranty plan on the camera(which was like $900....)

Re: BB PRICE MATCHING(help)

I was told that they have a 15% restocking fee if you return your item, if that is true then i would be out about $315.00 to take my tv back.

MY THING FOR BEST BUY IS THAT GIVING ME A $100. GIFT CARD WOULD PROBABLY MAKE THEM MONEY, I WANTED TO BUY A DVD CAM CORDER AND OTHER EQUIPMENT, AND BECAUSE THEY WERE SO UNWILLING TO COOPERATE WITH ME, OR EVEN SAY THAT THEIR EMPLOYEES MADE A MISTAKE FOR NOT TELLING ME THE CONDITIONS OF THE CREDIT CARD, LET US MAKE IT RIGHT FOR YOU.

I ABSOLUTELY WILL NOT BE GOING TO BUY ANYTHING ELSE FROM THEM , AND ALSO EMAILED ABOUT 30 FRIENDS AND TOLD THEM TO EMAIL EVERY PERSON THEY KNOW BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY, I THINK MAYBE I MAY HAVE PUT A DENT IN THERE BUSINESS HERE IN BISMARCK ND. OH AND A PLUG IN FOR THE MAIN MANAGER AT THE BISMARCK STORE, MAYBE THE HEAD COMPANY SHOULD  LISTEN TO HER PHONE CALLS THAT SHE TAKES, AND GIVE HER SOME POINTER AS TO MAKE THE CUSTOMER MORE UNDERSTANDING.

I WOULD HAVE LIKED FOR HER TO TAKE MY NAME AND PHONE NUMBER AND THE DATE OF MY PURCHASE, I TOLD HER THE NAME OF THE SALES ASSOCIATE THAT I WORKED WITH AND HOW MUCH I HAD BOUGHT WHICH WAS OVER $3,000. THAT DAY. AND TO SEE IF MAYBE HER SALES PERSON MADE A MISTAKE.    IN OUR AREA IF A PERSON MAKES A MISTAKE WE TRY TO MAKE IT RIGHT FOR THE OTHER PERSON.

THIS COMPANY IS NOT LIKE OTHER STORES. THEY DON'T GIVE A #### ABOUT YOU.

BECAUSE THEY THINK IT DOESN'T MATTER, WHAT ONE PERSON THINK, WELL LET ME TELL YOU THE WORD OF MOUTH OR EMAIL IS VERY POWERFUL, AND I HAVE GOTTEN MANY UNDERSTANDING EMAIL BACK FROM FRIENDS SAYING THEY WILL NOT SHOP THEIR ,BECAUSE OF ALL THE BAD THINGS THEY HAVE HEARD.   SORRY FOR RANTING, THANKS FOR LISTENING, NICOLE

There is no restocking fee for a regular TV. Per the Best Buy website store return policy:

Restocking fee
A restocking fee of 15% will be charged on opened notebook computers, projectors, camcorders, digital cameras, radar detectors, GPS navigation and in-car video systems unless defective or prohibited by law. A restocking fee of 25% will be charged on Special Order Products, including appliances unless defective or prohibited by law.

Re: BB PRICE MATCHING(help)

Fact number one.... There is no restocking fee's on TV's at Best Buy...

Fact number two.... There is no reason they can not refund you that money... Go into the store and ask for this in writing... Seems like they are pulling your chain... If all else fails call the 1888BestBuy number or try a different store.

Re: BB PRICE MATCHING(help)

They will lie and do anything they can to avoid responsibility or accommodating a customer.

Forget the gift card - you have to buy something at BB to benefit from that, and you should never set foot in a BB again.

I recommend that you try not to get too enraged - your blood pressure will go up, and you can't win.  Tell everybody not to shop at bb, complain to consumer protection etc., and get on with your life.

[ Edited ]

seems like an employee who has NO idea what they are doing

You are entitled to ur price match in the form of what YOU paid for it (ex : credit, cash, debit whatever)

the only thing i think happened was i know that they were running a promotion if you get the card and the finacing options. I believe the promotion was over 1000 on TV's only you get 3 years intrest free. The stupid employee was prob trying to say that if he price match it you wouldnt get that promotion.

god people need to learn to speak english lolz

Re: BB PRICE MATCHING(help)

Hey nabeehler,

While I cannot provide you an explanation why you were denied a price match at your local store, I assure you that our sale prices are not dependent upon the financing option you choose at the time of sale.  The only time that they would even be related is if you were to seek a price match that would lower the sale price of the qualifying products to below the financing promotion’s minimum required purchase price.  In that case, you would need to choose between the lower price and the financing plan – you would not be able to receive both offers.

I certainly do apologize for any trouble you may have encountered, but I’m glad to hear that our Consumer Relations department was able to find a resolution for you!

Thanks for keeping us updated!
