The BB guy just left my house. BB calibration is a joke!!! The guy was at my house for 1/2 an hour, did all the adjustments thru the remote and didn't even listen to my home theater sound system which is supposed to be part of the service. I asked him about making the adjustments thru ControlCal and he said the main ISF guy that trains them doesn't train them to use it and tells them to go thru the front menu only. BB sucks!!! I asked him if I can have a printout of the adjustments all he could do is write down the settings for me. This is the settings he wrote down. He did not go into the ISF menu to make any adjustments. Not a true calibration!!!!!
Picture Mode-- Standard
Contrast-------- 41
Brightness------ 6
Color------------ 1
Tint-------------- R3
Sharpness------- (-15)
What a joke!!!! My wife could have made those adjustments.

I just got my TV calibrated buy BB/GS in Honolulu. See my earlier post for my experience. I was wondering if there is a way for me to get my money back for the horrible calibration job that they did. It was totally useless. He didn't even go into the ISF menu that my TV has to set day / night ISF settings. He didn't listen to my home theater surround sound system and didn't make any adjustment to the speakers. He didn't dress the wires. He was at my house for 1/2 an hour. I don't think I should have to pay for such poor service. Hope someone has a resolution for me. I do not feel that the local store will be willing to help me.

Why do you say that? Have you contacted them?

Hello kltlkr,
I was very disheartened to read about your experience with the TV calibration. I certainly understand your frustration and dissatisfaction with the results you describe; I would be equally upset in these circumstances. According to GeekSquad.com, the service should have provided the following:
• Calibrate your TV to ISF standards for top video performance and create dedicated settings for two different inputs
• Adjust the surround sound levels of the A/V receiver to ensure all the effect speakers are working optimally
• Review and check the speaker system; verify that all speakers are properly positioned and working
• Review and recommend any remote control features or capabilities that might be helpful to you now or in the future
• Ensure that all wires and cables are neatly dressed, using wire ties as needed
• Written assessment of your TV's previous and calibrated state
Unfortunately, fees for services are not refundable. They should, however, be completed to your satisfaction. Since all of the above points were not hit during the technician’s visit, another appointment should be scheduled to correct any oversights or omissions. Your local store’s home theater department should be able to work with you to arrange another visit. If you’d like me to put a store representative in touch with you, please let me know by sending me a private message. I appreciate the response, but the guy that calibrated my TV told me that the way he calibrated my TV is the way they are trained to calibrate Pioneer Elite's. I spent a lot of money buying this top of the line TV for the PQ that this TV can give me when properly calibrated. BB obviously is not trained to properly calibrate this TV. They sold me a service that they can not do. I am asking for my money back or they contract out and hire someone that can do the job properly. To just send another BB/GS calibrator will not satisfy me because of the lack of knowledge that they have with the calibration setting for my TV.
Thanks again for your response I hope this can be resolved.
