Called Store and Geek Squad 800 number, got transferred all over, and finally got the "dial the 800 number again" message after spending 30 minutes on hold. All I want is a repair estimate to replace a cracked LCD in a sharp LC.46D85U.
Thanks

We don't provide estimates over the phone. There's a blanket charge for an initial appointment to receive the estimate as far as I'm aware.

Anybody on the phone know that? I kept hearing, "Sure, let me transfer you to X department". After several transfers and finally getting sent off to nowhere, I gave up.

I work in HT scheduling of new and existing services w/ 1-800-GS so if you talked to anyone in Retail Dispatch, Central Dispatch, TV Repair, or the PSP Department, they should have known this, yes. I apologize since that wasn't the case.

Hey CrackedLCDTV,
Like starhelper2587 mentioned, we unfortunately cannot provide over-the-phone estimates for repairs. Instead, customers always have the option to schedule an in-home service appointment so that a factory-authorized repair technician has the opportunity to examine their large-screen TV and provide a detailed on-site estimate.
Now, I’m not quite sure why this information would not have been immediately available when you contacted our toll-free hotline, but I apologize if you found this to be the case. Not being able to find the information you’re looking for is always frustrating, especially if you find yourself on hold for lengthy periods of time.
If you are still in need of assistance, I would strongly encourage you to contact our in-home service department at 1-888-BEST-BUY (1-888-327-8289). Simply let an associate know that you have a large screen TV that is in need of repairs and they’d be glad to schedule you an appointment.

Hey Duder, seeing how your TV retails at about $1,100 right now, a cracked panel (which is usually the bulk of the price) could be around $700-900 to replace, including labor, most likely its going to be more!
Nothing I post is an official statment of Best Buy or Geek Squad, it is only a helpful opinion!
