A few days ago I received a text message about a $1000 gift card for Best Buy. I remember doing a survey on a receipt and am wondering if this is a scam or I actually won. The text message was from 13157067371.

Correct. This is a scam done by a third party using Best Buy's name to attempt to trick people into clicking on the link provided.

This. It is totally a scam. If you won a survey from Best Buy, then we will get in contact with you usually by email with more official information, or by giving you a call, however its usually by email with different identifying information to inform you that it is actually coming from Best Buy and not a scam.

I have received many of these texts. The latest was today from 173-2208-4654 telling me to go to www.bestbuy.com.gpgc.biz to claim my 1000 gift card. Needless to say I didn't go to that web-site.

if you want to send text messages to your customers thats fine, BUT you should make sure that when you send them it is a convenient time frame. I received one at 5:38 this morning, this is Sunday on Memorial Day weekend, telling me to go to bestbuy.com for a chance to win $1000. I don't know about you, but I was ASLEEP at that time. I don't want to purchase anything, or sign up for anything, from bestbuy at that hour. I think that is extremely rude.

I'm thinking you got a fraudulent text message. Best Buy doesn't send out text messages about winning money. Lot of people have been getting these fraudulent messages/emails.

Google lists it as a scam and the site can damage your computer or phone. Delete the message at once, I did.
What I would like to know , is where did they get our mobile telephone numbers? It could just be random numbers their computer calls, or do they have access to BB data files? Does anyone know?
