I just recieved a text message from a number with 347 area code that said I just won a $1000 gift card to Best Buy.  It gives me a link to click on the claim.  I am assuming that this is just spam, but figured I would ask here before clicking on the link

I just got a text from probably the same number. 1-347-735-6287

I knew it had to be a scam because I don't remember ever giving best buy my phone #

Nevertheless I still sent the web address to my laptop to check it and my antivirus blocked the site.

I received the message also, from 347-903-5679, says to go to bestbuy.com.bestwinners1.org/?id=rwlbrfcpb.  Guessed it was a scam sent to many people.

I just received the same text, from 4406705815. Thankfully my paranoia paid off this time!

Well I did it, upon my personal investigation I have found this: 1. Before you claim the 'prize' you MUST subscribe to or purchase an item from one of their vendors
2. They spam your phone through various numbers for 'offers' even if you don't finish the claim processes.
3. I have declared this 'offer' a SCAM.

Text message from 3072130637 "your entry has won goto http:bestbuy.com.gccpbiz/?claimid=311 and enter your winning code: "6655" to claim your free $1,000 Bestbuy Giftcard"  I reported it to my carrier and blocked number froom my phone

Hi, I just wanted to add yet another text to the list that claims I have randomly been selected for a $1000 gift card. Apparently there is still no resolution to this problem.  The number that sent it was 347-460-7419.  The link is bestbuy.com.prizepage.net/?id=rwkfyycfkc

There really can't be any resolution to this... There is no way to prevent someone from texting another person..which is all this is.

Pro Tip : Forward the text to 7726. This reports it to your carrier as harassing/spam/scam.
