$100 to deliver a $1700 TV ?????

My wife and I bought two TVs and  extended warranties totaling over $3200. Able to get the 42" home but not the 50". In Best Buys infinite wisdon, or maybe greed, they want another $100 to deliver the 50". I'll probably be returning BOTH and going somewhere else.

Re: $100 to deliver a $1700 TV ?????

I would ask them to knock $100 off the price of the TV in order to pay for the delivery. No store wants a $3200 return!!!
Just providing information I've learned and possibly an opinion or 2!

$100 sounds about right.

I called two other retailers and asked what they charged and it was pretty much the same price.

Maybe you should had called a moving company and see what they charge. $100 isnt bad. Or you could had borrowed a pickup.

Re: $100 to deliver a $1700 TV ?????

Hello wonheart,

I’m sorry to hear about your disappointment with the fee you were quoted for delivery.  Delivery charges are set based on where our customers are relative to our product warehouses, not based on the retail price of the product to be delivered.  For metro areas, the charge may be a set fee.  For more rural areas, the charge may vary based on distance to our customer’s home.  My research indicates that the charge you were quoted was in line with our delivery pricing.

I’d like to gather additional information and see if there’s a way to a happier experience for you, so please watch for a private message from me.  To check your forum inbox, please sign in with your user name and password and click the envelope icon in the upper right.

Thank you for taking the time to alert us to your situation.

Sincerely,
John|Community Connector | Best Buy® Corporate
