If we pre-order, are we guaranteed a console? Also, are we charged at the time of pre-order or when we pick up the item?

How much do you have to put down at best buy?

Hey Matt just curious i just went into my closest best buy store and pre-ordered the xbox one, am i guaranteed 1st shipment on that note??

Hello everyone!

Thanks for the great questions!

Cfrone3, a pre-order will reserve you a console, although I cannot guarantee that all pre-orders will be fulfilled on launch day. It is absolutely our goal to fulfill all pre-orders as quickly as possible, but there are many factors that can come into play over the next several months.

varucell, if you pre-order in-store you will need a minimum of a $25 deposit.

sandersjr20, your pre-order will reserve you a console, but it is difficult to make such a guarantee at this point. It is certainly our goal to fulfill as many pre-orders as possible on launch day, and they should be taken care of in the order that they were placed.

Regards,
Matt

Hey Matt, I pre-ordered my xbox one on best buy . com and chose the option to pick it up a my local best buy. If my store would do a midnight release for the console, and if I haven't received the email saying my order is ready for pickup at the midnight release if the midnight release were to happen. Could I use the email showing were my order was placed, with my order number,ID, and credit card used? And be able to pick it up that way?
by Retired: Senior Social Media Specialist

Hello tparker85,

I'm sure you're pretty excited after getting your pre-order in for an Xbox One and I know everyone has a lot of questions about how this process will work. With these going up for pre-order only a couple of days ago and the actual launch still several months away, I unfortunately may not have answers to all questions at this time, but we'll certainly do our best to keep everyone updated as new information becomes available.

We don't have details regarding midnight launches at this time, but if your local store would end up doing one, you would need to receive confirmation that yours is ready for pickup in order to pick it up. The store would certainly be able to locate your order by using the information you mentioned, but the final confirmation email would be needed to pick up the console.

I hope this helps, and we should continue to have more specifics as we get closer to the launch date.

Regards,
Matt

Hey Matt, I have one question. Do  you guys stop taking pre-orders or do you keep taking them? Also am I guaranteed one if I pre-ordered it?

by Retired: Senior Social Media Specialist
on ‎06-17-2013 05:45 PM

Hello Jellyman219,

That is a great question! We are working within a specified allocation of units, so we would stop taking pre-orders if we get close to pre-ordering that entire quantity. I would encourage you to get your pre-order in before too long if you're interested in getting one.

Pre-ordering one will certainly reserve you one for when they launch, I just can't necessarily say when your specific unit would be available.

Hope this helps!

Matt

by Jellyman219
on ‎06-17-2013 06:22 PM

So I already pre-ordered it, so I'm guaranteed it, but maybe not at launch. So does that mean I don't get the Day One edition.

by skmo9
on ‎06-18-2013 08:32 PM

With pre ordering in general are items to be reserved in the order that the pre order is received at a local Best Buy store?  I was told that customers who pay more will be more likely to receive the item sooner, and when I asked a question about that statement I asked "if I place a preorder today for $100, and my cousin places one 2 months later with a $200 deposit I was told that he will certainly get his sooner.  If this true or was I misinformed?  Thank you.

by Retired: Senior Social Media Specialist
on ‎06-19-2013 10:17 AM

Hello skmo9,

The amount that you put down towards your pre-order will have no effect on when you get your console. How it typically works is that product is held for pre-orders in the order that the pre-orders were received. I apologize if you've received any incorrect information regarding this process.

Matt

Hey Matt I have another question. So if I pre-ordered it already, I'm guranteed it at launch or I'm I not. Also if it is first come first serve would I have to go to midnight release if my store had one? I'm confused about what you said, "cant say when your specific unit would be available." Can you explain it to me a bit more.

by Retired: Senior Social Media Specialist
on ‎06-19-2013 02:10 PM

Hello Jellyman219,

If you've already pre-ordered one, I can't necessarily guarantee it will be available on launch day, but I can say that our pre-order process is to fulfill pre-orders before selling the items to customers without a pre-order. Once stores receive their alotted units, they will be instructed to tag and hold all of the ones that have already been pre-ordered by customers. These will be held for you to come pick up, so you wouldn't have to show up at a midnight launch if your store does have one. First come first serve isn't really the best way to describe it, as it will have more to do with the order that the pre-orders were placed.

I hope this helps.

Hey Matt, is there any specific number of pre-order units per store? I know Gamestop only has a limit of about 10 or so. I would like to know the amount Best buy might have.

Hello BBY!

All the Xbox One games available for pre-order say pick up availalbe on 12/31/13. I know for a fact some of these titles are releaseing at launch on Nov 30th. Is this a mistake on BBY.com or are you guys really shipping them a month late? FYI - Amazon quotes the correct dates.

by Retired: Senior Social Media Specialist
on ‎06-20-2013 10:09 AM

Hi Justingonz86,

That isn't information that we have at this time, as individual store allocations will need to be largely based off of how many pre-orders the store sells. Since we're still accepting pre-orders at this time, we won't know that yet.

Thanks!

Hello juicy360,

Much like the Xbox One console itself, the actual date of release for the games has not yet been announced. All that has been said so far is that the console will be released in November 2013, and the games will be released to coincide with that. The date of 12/31/13 that we have listed right now is simply a placeholder date and will be updated once we have the official date(s).

Thanks!

If I pre-ordered the Xbox One in-store, can I go back to put more money towards the purchase before it is released or do I have to pay the remaining balance when I pick it up?

Hello Jborch,

The fulfillment dates of ship-to-home pre-orders really depend on the method of shipping that was chosen. Pre-ordered products will typically ship shortly before the actual release date however the shipping time will vary between Standard, Expedited, and Express shipping. You can find more details about each here. You can also view more common questions about this pre-order process here

Hello jdefe39,

Once you’ve made your initial in-store deposit you are not able to add more. The remaining balance will be due when you pick it up. If you’d like to ensure you have the money to do so, we recommend getting a Best Buy gift card and periodically adding money to it between now and launch. You can also view more common questions about this pre-order process here.

Hello Inspectah,

If you pre-order in-store there won’t necessarily be any notification. The quantities that stores will receive will be based on the number of pre-orders they’ve done, and they will have their entire pre-order list available to them once the consoles arrive. The pre-order quantity will be held for those customers. Customers that pre-order on BestBuy.com will receive email notification once their order ships giving them an estimated arrival date. You can also view more common questions about this pre-order process here.

If you pre-ordered in-store you won’t necessarily receive any notifications about your pre-order. Once we get closer to launch day you should be able to contact your local store about how the process will work, but you can also keep an eye here.

DO NOT PRE-ORDER YOUR XBOX ONE ONLINE WITH BBY.COM

I DID SO AFTER EXTENSIVE RESEARCH AND BEING ASSURED MY CARD WOULD NOT BE CHARGED.  I HAVE SINCE FOUND OUT MY ACCOUNT WILL HAVE THE FULL AMOUNT PUT ON HOLD ON MY CARD WEEKLY BETWEEN NOW AND NOVEMBER

WHICH MEANS ONCE A WEEK UNTIL NOVEMBER FOR A PERIOD OF AT LEAST 2-3 DAYS I WILL BE OUT OVER $500.

POOR BUSINESS PRACTICE.

DO NOT PRE-ORDER ONLINE!!!

I pre-ordered my Xbox one on bestbuy.com and elected to have the console shipped to my house. Will it arrive on release day or will it take a few days from release to arrive?

by Retired: Senior Social Media Specialist

Hello Keifer87,

Pre-order items on BestBuy.com that are fulfilled as ship-to-home orders typically ship on or slightly before their scheduled release date. The date that they arrive will depend on the method of shipping you selected, and you can find more information about the three options (Standard, Expedited, Express) we have here

Once we get closer to the actual release date we'll be able to provide you with a better esitmated arrival timeframe.

I hope this helps to answer your question, and please feel free to let us know if you have additional questions or concerns.

Regards,
Matt

Matt, I just pre-ordered the Xbox One in-store using one of the touch screen kiosks.  Just curious about something, how will you guy notify me when the system is ready to pick up?  When I took the reciept to the cashier to pay the down payment, they never asked for a phone number or email address.  Will they use the phone number associated with my rewards card or do I just have to show up on release day to find out if they have it or not?  I ask this because I am aware that I am pretty late to the pre-ordering party, so I don't expect to get one on the day it is released.  Thanks!

Matt,

I was living under a rock and missed the pre-orders. Are there going to be any Day One editions either in store for first come first serve or will there be any on BBY.com after November 22nd? It doesn't look like it will be a problem to eventually get a Xbox One system, but I wanted to see if it was still possible to get the Day One edition somehow, whether or not it is on release day.

Thanks!

Hello rgate,

We actually just re-opened pre-orders for the Xbox One Day One Edition as of today! I don't know exactly how long you'll be able to pre-order this time around, but we only have limited quantities so I'm sure they'll go quickly.

Hi, I've been checking around to pre-order an xbox one. I've come to realize that this is the final day that you will be allowing pre-orders for the console. I have a question regarding payment for pre-ordering an xbox one online for the pick-up in store.

I've even called the store and they can't even answer whether or not I have to pay in full if I pre-order today for the pick up instore option. I need to know asap since this is the last day. PLEASE HELP.

Hello Josh111596-

If you pre-order online for in-store pickup, you do need to have the full amount available on your card for the initial authorization.

If you do not, the order will cancel.

Hello xlCooRsYlx,

It's hard to say if there will be any more opportunitites to pre-order the Xbox One. My best guess is that there will not be, however you can always keep an eye on this thread or BestBuy.com. In the event that we are able to open them up again, you will be able to find that information there.

Hey Matt,

I was wondering if Best Buy will have extra copies for those who didn't pre-order?  Like a first come, first serve basis for those who wait in line to get the extra systems?  I know Best Buy in Davenport, IA is doing this, but would you happen to know how many copies they will have?

Hello iiAesthetics,

Our stores will have limited quantities available for customers that don't have a pre-order, however the actual quantity may vary for each store and I'm not able to speak to any specific numbers.

I pre ordered on 10/16 for a day one addition, with in store pickup.

Am I guranteed a launch system that I can pickup on midnight release?

I checked my order status and it just says payment validated.

Matt,

Do you have the time frame for "ship to home" pre-orders yet? Will they begin to ship early so that they will arrive on the release date or will they begin to ship on the release date? I know this question was asked earlier but you stated you would have more information closer to the release date.

Thanks,

Hi Matt,

I'm planning to attend the launch event at the Milk Studios in Los Angeles on November 21st. It is my understanding that this event will be hosted by Best Buy. Would I be able to use my Best Buy gift cards at this event? I plan on being there in the early morning, and considering that purchases will start at 10am on the 21st, I want to be there at around 6am. I don't want to wait in line and wake up so early, only to be told that I cannot use my $400 worth of gift cards towards my purchase. I've contacted Best Buy, and they told me to contact Xbox. I contacted Xbox and they told me to contact Best Buy or Milk Studios. I contacted Milk Studios and they told me to contact Best Buy because they haven't even heard a mention of the store. It's a never-ending circle. Could you please help me in getting this information? I would think that it is similar to the Times Square event. Thank you.
