Prototype 2

 

Those who joined on us on the Prototype 2 developer chat yesterday know just how entertaining the Radical Entertainment crew was.  Apparently it's really fun to develop games in Canada.

 

Each developer was represented by their own unique username:

We had some great questions and a lot of game features covered throughout the chat. It was interesting to see how they chose to field questions based on their involvement in the project.  The Studio VP would field questions on the weather systems and the design director would chime in on questions about Hellers powers.  My favorite, though, was when they would all comment on an oppinion question and even make a few jabs at each other.

 

Here are some excerpts from the chat to give you a taste of what it was like...

Spartacus: Lol! Great first question. The correct answer is "VERY awesome".

BatmanK: totally awesome!! seriously, it is fun and awesome

Jonolicious: Somewhere between winning a fight between a shark and having Samuel L Jackson yell 'THIS IS SO AWESOME' in your face

defcon-2: What's great about P2 is that YOU get to make it as awesome as you want - you can break the rules and do some amazing stuff like rip the turret of a tank and destroy it, or hurl a bio-bombed BW soldier into a chopper...

 

Guest-115: What is some of your guys favorite powers?

BatmanK: To Guest-115 LOVE the Tendrils and Pack Leader

Spartacus: To Guest-115 I've gonna go with Bio-Bomb. I'm endlessly amused by being able to turn people into walking biological grenades.

defcon-2: To Guest-115 The tendrils hands down...just so visceral and visual!

Jonolicious: To Guest-115 Anybody that says it's not Tendrils is a flat out liar. I'm looking at you, BiSkit

 

Guest-196: What was the biggest challenge that you faced when making a game a big as Prototype 2?

BiSkiT: To Guest-196 Stealing the confiscated fried chicken and grappa unnoticed

BatmanK: To Guest-196 in all seriousness, making sure we lived up to the expectations of our fans, as i have said they are very important to us and we never want to let them down

BatmanK: To Guest-196 Keeping the friend chicken from Jono and the grappa from Dave

defcon-2: Having to deal with the dudes above...*8^)

 

Guest-203: Are you guys thinking about a 3rd installment

BiSkiT: To Guest-203 3rd? We're already thinking about Prototype 5!! :smileywink: But seriously, we'd love to keep making Prototype for as long as our fans are still enjoying it.

 

Whether you're fan of the Prototype series or not, this chat is well-worth the read.  Or, if you are interested in Prototype 2 and just want a better idea of what the game is like, what better way than hearing its creators talk about it?
