I am looking for a large capacity washing machine (king size comforter) that can get very dirty clothes clean. (We're talking farming dirt and grease.) What's a good one?
Do the machines that don't have the agitators clean as well as the ones that don't? (again--very dirty clothes.)
Do the ones that don't have agitators have any issues with softened hard water? (Would occasional rust particles mess the machine up?)
Thanks for any help?

It has been my experience that the washers without agitators do not clean as well as ones with. That being said, to get a king sized comforter into a washer requires about 4 cu f in agitator-less and 4.2 in one with an agitator. You are probably not going to find a good top load with agitator that can easily fit a king sized comforter but if you want to try, get something like the Maytag MVWC6ESWW or the Whirlpool WTW57ESVW. Otherwise look for a good front loader with a turbidity sensor. Currently I have the Samsung WF448AAW and when I throw my comforter in there I can barely tell the difference between this and my old top loader.
