The texts you are receiving are not coming from Best Buy. It is a scam to try and get you to give email address of other people. I have received them for Walmart and Target as well as Best Buy.

ha1f3mpty,

This is a scam by a 3rd party and we're doing what we can to stop it. I've gotten them for other retailers on my phone as well. I don't answer, just delete. Recommend you do the same and do not give out any personal information. Thanks,

this is totally not best buy. the scammers can say anything.

YOU RECEIVED A $500 GIFT CARD TO WALMART! Go to {removed per forum guidelines} to claim it.

Those scammers have nothing to do with Best Buy. They can literally say ANYTHING because they are trying to steal your identity.

Let me put it this way. If a guy was walking down the street and told you that he will give you $500 cash if you give him your credit card, then would you say "I am not trusting the U.S. Treasury anymore!"

Same thing with Best Buy. They have nothing to do with the obvious scammers out there who are trying to steal your identity.

To Best Buy: Do not apologize because you are obviously NOT at fault here and they should know that in today's internet world, anyone can say anything to anyone.
