I am curious to find out if anyone else had ever been in a similar situation with me with regards to finding replacement parts for a refrigerator. 2 years ago I had purchased a fantastic LG refrigerator - I won't go into what a rediculous pain it was working with the BB warehouse and delivery company - everything had been working fine until one day I opened the fridge and found that my top shelp had pretty much exploded. The glass had caved in and was all over the inside of the unit. I cleaned it up and called the local BB store to see if they had any information for me on what I could do to fix this.
They didn't have much to offer since I wasn't under coverage of any protection plan, but did forward me to someone who gave me the contact information for a company that they thought could replace the shelf. Before calling them I thought I should contact LG to see if they had any options. They said that parts like that weren't covered under any warranty after 2+ years and wouldn't be able to sell me replacements directly. They also insuated that I must have set something metal or extremely heavy on the glass shelf because "shelves don't just do that". At the time I think all that was on it was a small container of margerin and some plastic bottled condiments.
So, I gave the BB recommened place a call. They informed me that they were not able to locate a replacement part for the unit.
Has anyone else had a similar situation (not about the bad delivery service, but the issue finding replacement parts)?
