Refrigerator Door

Hi, I have a 2-yr. old Frigidaire refrigerator and the door needs to be reinstalled so that it closes correctly. Does anyone know how I can get this done without paying an arm and a leg? Best Buy wants $100 just to come out to "analyze" the problem---since I already know what the problem is for me that service is a waste of $100.  Best Buy says it's their policy so I cannot get around paying the $100 bucks!  (The repair is additional, of course). Lousy policy if you ask me.

Re: Refrigerator Door

Hi ifrankel,

I can understand your frustration with the $100 charge; we do, however, have to cover mileage, labor and diagnostic costs in addition to any repairs that a customer chooses to have us perform.  If you don't want to do that, maybe you could contact Frigidaire for other options?

Maybe there are other users out there that can give you some recommendations as well?

Thanks for your feedback,

Re: Refrigerator Door

I do understand the reasoning behind the charge; however, if I already know what the problem is then perhaps they should reduce the $100 charge or apply it towards the repair.  I can understand charging the whole amount if a customer needs to know what the problem is and then decides NOT to get it fixed. Of course BB is entitled to charge for their time, travel, etc.

Re: Refrigerator Door

I can see why it seems odd to charge 100 for the diagnostics, and Elizabeth pointed out the major things about paying the employees and the trip charge and stuff like that
I understand why your confused as to why we can't lower the price even if you know what the problem is.
Allow me to clarify this a little bit. Even if we know what the issue is ahead of time; doing the diag will allow us to do 2 things
1. Make sure that the main issue is not caused by an underlying cause.
And
2. It will allow us to insure our work.
It seems steep yes, but well worth it at the same time.

Re: Refrigerator Door

Have you tried a local repair shop? They would probably be more reasonable and less hassle
