Anyone else running into issues with Oster branded microwaves? Mine died after 7 months. A quick google search shows that this is occurring often and that the company Sunbeam/Oster licensed its brand to, MLO Appliance Company, to manufacture the product went out of business in September so there is no real warranty.
see www.sunbeam.com/specialannouncement.aspx
The interesting thing is that these products are still being sold everywhere (including Best Buy) with 1 yr warranty claims.
I would think retailers would pull these off the shelf or at least make it clear there is no valid warranty.

Wow, this is the first time I've seen this happen.
I found a phone number for assistance with Oster Microwaves. I'm not sure how useful it is.

I actually work in Appliances but nothing was sent out about this issue, at least that I saw. I'm off tommorow so maybe a mod can dig up some more info, if not I'll see what I can find out on Thursday for ya, because we even got a few more of the smaller Oster Microwaves in the other day.

So the phone number gives me some hope. After a couple basic questions the person on the other line sent me an email with refund instructions. I need to send the cord and the turntable ring to Canada and it says it will take 10-15 days to process the payment.
I will mail it out today and we'll see what happens. I have seen some complaints elsewhere about waiting forever for the money so I won't be holding my breath.

Hey tmac -
One thing to remember when you make an appliance purchase at Best Buy® is that you can bring the unit into any Best Buy® location for repair while its under manufacturer's warranty.
I did a bit of research on this and it appears that not all Sunbeam/Oster products are affected.
Keep me up to date on what you find out!
Thanks!

Hey tmac -
I would like to get some further information from you to try to assist you. Bottom line, if you are entitled to warranty repairs, then I want to make that happen.
I am sending you a private message with more information so please ensure you are logged into the forums, then click the envelope in the upper right hand corner.
Thanks!

Hey TMac....I just bought an oster microwave this past January and mine died today. I called best buy and they told me that I had to deal with the manufacturer, not them.
