We purchase our LG refrigerator, model LFC23760SB, and LG oven in September, 2008. Within 2 weeks of delivery we had to replace the panel on the stove and now the refrigerator has completely died. Fortunately, the oven was still under warranty and we also had purchased an extended warranty. We weren't so lucky with the refrigerator though and it looks like we will have to buy a replacement. After talking with multiple appliance repair companies (some of who refuse to work on LG products) they stated that LG knew of the problem with these refrigerators but opted to not recall them since these problems usually manifested after the warranty expired. Now that I've had multiple problems with various LG products, I will steer clear of any of their products. And since my network of friends consist of many contractors I'll be sure to warn them of these problems. I was also amazed that when I asked LG if I could purchase an extended warrany they said no because I could only do this during the initial one year warranty. LG's business practice to not stand behind their products has truely ruined their credibility in the eyes of my family, friends and associates.

I've been selling Appliances for just over 2 years now, and I have never seen many major issues with them. I definitely recommend LG. They are excellent product with great style. They are a little bit more expensive than some brands, but like Electrolux models; you pay for the style and new features.
It's REALLY rare this stuff happens, for any brand for that matter.
All brands will refuse you to purchase an extended warranty after the initial 1 year. Unless they can get a technician out there to check the product before doing so, which costs them money. This is why I purchase mine through Best Buy, they have one of the best extended plans out there.
I had a problem with Whirlpool Side by Side, and had a tech out a day later. It wasn't a Whirlpool tech, it was a Geek Squad tech.

Do not listen to the salesman above. They don't call it ElectroSUX in the biz for nothing. Its overpriced Frigidaire stuff. And yes you get what you pay for, a big pile of poo.
Anyways, LG is alright for most stuff but there refer's are better than most. Their laundry is also pretty good, but avoid the dishwashers. Remember there is no one good brand that does everything well, and I have been in this business for 24 years (both selling and repair and install).

We bought an LG french door refrig that starting blowing the circuit board fuse just out of warranty. BB and LG said too bad. Now it turns out LG got caught rigging circuit boards to blow in order to falsify the Energy Star tests. DO NOT BUY AN LG PRODUCT!!
And to BB-haven't bought anything from you and won't until you make this right. When I go to purchase my 55" tv, it'll be elsewhere. Ditto for all other entertainment and appliances! I don't appreciate having to replace the fuse on the circuit board every 5 weeks! It was a $1600 refrig that lasted 14 months. Shame on you and LG!
