Unfortunately I just think realistically that no one of importance is going to see this thread and make the adjustments that rightfully should be made. The people that are responding from Best Buy are paid to do so by the people that could make any real sort of difference. Communications departments are only allowed to submit pre approved responses. I think that is pretty evident by the only responses we have been seeing thus far.
I would put money down that best buy won't do anything to appease the REAL issue... which is giving us the TRUE information and helping us out by telling us, Yes your phone will be available in store or on your porch on launch day. or NO, you will not be receiving a phone on launch day.

Let me see if I can help you all out with information I got from Best Buy Customer Service on the phone. They originally stated, when I called them today, that the phone would not ship until the 16th because Apple doesn't allow any third party to pre-ship an iPhone prior to release date. I pressed on this and asked for a manager. She put me on hold and came back with a further clarification:
Anyone who has a "Get it by 9/16/16" on their Order Confirmation and when they placed the order will receive the Phone and/or Watch on the 16th. The order status will not change until close to midnight on Thursday or 12 AM to 2 AM on Friday. Best Buy will then Same Day Air, from a local facility, to your house via UPS. They do not use FedEx.
Do I trust this information? Probably not but I will keep my fingers crossed and hope as I don't think I will be able to stand in line at the Apple Store on the 16th.

What about for those of us who chose in store pick up?
I just see 'Estimated release day: 9/16' on my order confirmation page with no movement as of yet.
I didn't even see that as an option for my order but I would imagine you need to speak to your local store. From what I understand, they are getting their phones beginning as early as this evening and will be allocating them to preorders for pickup on the 16th.
Best Buy Customer Service says some local Best Buy Stores are handling delivery to customers at home. Not really sure what stores or how that works.

For those of you who pre-ordered online, whether for store pickup or shipping, I would anticipate you to see your order continue to progress by tomorrow night or early Friday morning. For those of you who pre-ordered in-store, you unfortunately don't have visibility to the step-by-step progression of your orders.
Either way, you should receive email updates beginning tomorrow night or early Friday as we prepare for the launch. I would encourage you to keep an eye on your email inboxes (including your spam and advertising folders) for updates coming your way!
