I ordered a silver 126gb + and my order has not changed at all. no charges nothing. Order Status says "In progress" and stuck in the "processing" que. 

I have a stong feeling we wont be getting these phones until well after the release Friday.

Hello everyone - 

 

I wanted to provide you some insight on what to expect with your orders as far as charges go. When you place an order with us, we typically authorize the funds for the full amount of the order to ensure they are available. However, authorizations which often reflect as pending charges do not actually allow us to collect funds. When an order is fulfilled, we then reverse this authorization and charge the card to actually collect the funds.

 
With that said, authorizations typically expire, and this is often experienced with pre-orders due to the time between when an order is placed and the release date. When authorizations expire, your financial institution should release the funds back to you. If this occurs, please know that we will need to reauthorize the funds once we begin to fulfill your pre-order.

I did see an update on my order confirmation page today that said, "Payment method updated" or something along those lines. I never updated my payment method. I still do not see a charge to my card. 

 

My plan at this point since there are no direct answers is this:

 

Head to an Apple Store extremely early. Wait in line. They are receiving stock of phones specifically for walk ins. They have separate allotments. I am going to try to secure a phone there. If I can, I am cancelling my phone with Best Buy and NEVER ordering through them again. Everyone else (check Macrumors) that ordered from either their carrier or from apple are getting more updated information. They can see movement on their phones and their 'Deliver By' Dates were all correct. Best Buy has a system that can see what is being delivered to which store. They have to. If they can't see what is expected to arrive, how do they report variances in stock when they are checking in everything that was expected? For example:  Let's say they were shipped 6 X-Box Ones. The store only received 5 X-Box Ones. The store needs to look at the packing slip, the shipping information that was sent to them a day or two in advance, and then their actual delivery to be sure that they are actually short one unit. 

Does this make sense?

 

So... the reason I say all this is because they do know what they are going to receive. 

 

 

I just want to know. Will I know by Thursday Night if my order can be picked up on Friday morning? I really don't think that is too much to ask. Everyone else in this country (and all of the other) who went with their carrier or with apple has that knowledge. Why do best buy customers not deserve the same amount of information as everybody else? That is not right. It ust isn't an ethical way of handling your customers.

I agree 100% Hell if Best Buy would just tell us "You can expect it October 4-10th" as many other carriers are doing it would at least take the "angst" out of the situation. This entire experience has been awful so far and I'm sure the cherry on top will be not receiving the phone by the "GET IT BY" date.

Like I said... I'm now going to use my best buy pre order as a back up and just line up at Apple. 

I can't believe I'm going to do that. Haven't lined up since the 4S lol. 

 

Can I be patient? Can we all be patient? yea, of course we could. But I am almost positive that we all feel the same about this. We all enjoy iPhone launch and we have done it for many years now. It's become something of a tradition. One we enjoy and one that we've typically been successful in, I'm sure. So regardless of anything, a huge part of us all wanting the information and to at least receive our phones by launch is just all part of what we enjoy every year we do this.

 

The kicker... We were up in the middle of the night. midnight. 1 am. 2 am. for me, 3 am pre ordering. and I can almost guarantee that some average Joe off the street will walk into a best buy, no pre order at all, and pick up one right there. lol

Your faq says unactivated devices are 849. Mine cost 899. 

 

 

Should i cancel it and wait for a price drop?
