I purchased a purple, light up USB to lightening charging cable a few months back. Yesterday when I removed the charger from my phone, I noticed the plastic piece near where the metal goes into the phone is cracked and broken. I have only had the charge for a few months and use it occasionally - it is not my main charger and I do not take it for travel, so it remains in the same place. I realize it is not meant to last forever, but a few months seems too soon for the cable to break, especially when it is not being used daily.
